Our Workshops

Our workshops are deeply rooted in physical theatre and a continuous exploration of presence, scenic truth, and the body in the theatrical space. Drawing on our international experience as creators and pedagogues, we offer training grounded in the pedagogy of Jacques Lecoq, combining the physical and the emotional into a vibrant and transformative practice.

Our workshops are adaptable to the group we are working with, both in focus and depth. Formats range from single-day intensives to immersive retreats of up to ten days, allowing for a flexible experience tailored to the needs of each context and its participants.

Ana Mirtha Sariego works with the Neutral Mask, the poetic body in the scenic space, and the journey of the neutral mask, guiding a path of listening, silence, and discovery through the body and space. Her approach explores the body, space, rhythm, awareness, and playfulness, combining technical precision with creative freedom. She also leads devising (collective creation) processes, seeing the stage as a shared space for authentic, poetic, and transformative construction. Her holistic perspective and experience as a therapist enrich this work, creating deeply human spaces of research.

The Alchemical Body workshop

The Alchemical Body

This workshop is a journey into the essence of the actor through the Neutral Mask, a key tool in Jacques Lecoq’s pedagogy. From a holistic perspective, we will explore the connection between body, presence, and energy, drawing inspiration from ancestral philosophies that view art as a bridge to self-knowledge.

The Neutral Mask allows the actor to shed habits and blockages, fostering a state of balance, openness, and readiness. Through deep physical training, the actor expands their stage presence, expressive range, and connection to the present moment.

An intensive workshop delving into the principles of physical theatre, drawing mainly from the pedagogy of Jacques Lecoq, as well as incorporating tools from View Points, Grotowski, Laban and Butoh Dance. We will work on listening, body and spatial awareness, rhythm, and neutrality using the tool of the Neutral Mask.

The mask makes visible the invisible: it reveals blockages, fears, and disconnections that the actor may experience on stage, exposing what limits their presence. Through this journey, participants will receive tools to work through these blockages and align the mental, emotional, and action centres, achieving a more authentic, alive, and powerful stage presence.

The Devising Process workshop

The Devising Process

This workshop is based on a methodology developed by Ana Mirtha Sariego, the result of over 15 years of international experience in devising (collective creation) with theatre companies, ensembles, and artists from around the world.

Rooted in the pedagogy of Jacques Lecoq and enriched by other body and movement-based processes, this approach offers practical and experiential tools for devising — tools that can be applied in professional companies, creative ensembles, or by individuals wishing to deepen their own artistic practice. Participants will engage in group improvisations, creative exercises, and composition tasks to generate, select, and structure original material collectively.

The workshop focuses on developing tools for collaboration, physical expression, and collective authorship. Artistic Immersions

Sariego Theatre’s Artistic Immersions are intensive 10-day full-time training and creation labs for actors and performers of all backgrounds. These immersions offer deep exploration into stage presence, physical training, and the awakening of the actor’s creative voice, always rooted in the artistic authenticity of each individual.

The process is structured into three interconnected modules, focusing on body, impulse, and creation.

Immersions can take place either as residential retreats, with communal living in a natural setting, or in urban spaces, where participants return home after each full day of work.

In both formats, we offer a transformative, intensive, and expansive experience that places the actor at the center of their own creative journey.

At the end of the process, participants engage in a collective creation, culminating in a final sharing or public showing, where the work developed throughout the immersion comes to life.

Module I:
The Poetic Truth

An actor’s journey toward authentic presence.

The Poetic Truth is a physical theatre workshop that combines the pedagogy of Jacques Lecoq to awaken the pre-expressive state of the performer. Through body work, rhythm, listening, and instinct, participants release physical and emotional blocks and reconnect with their authentic creative essence. A space of playfulness and joy, where presence becomes poetic truth.
