The Poetic Truth

The Poetic Truth invites participants into a deep exploration of the actor’s presence before text, before character — where the impulse is pure and creativity is fully embodied.

We approach the actor’s training by integrating:

Jacques Lecoq’s physical theatre pedagogy: focusing on neutral mask, space, rhythm, and the poetic body.

Sanford Meisner’s repetition technique: developing truthful reaction, emotional honesty, and connection to the other.

Through this fusion, we activate the pre-expressive state, working to identify and release physical and emotional blockages that prevent full expression. This opens the way to a more authentic, grounded, and creative actor.

We explore key principles through guided physical and partner exercises, always grounded in playfulness, joy, and embodied awareness.

Main benefits for the actor:

1. Release of physical and emotional tension to unlock expressive freedom.

2. Development of active listening and presence in the moment.

3. Strengthening of instinctual impulse as a source of genuine action.

4. Increased body awareness and connection to scenic rhythm and space.

5. Tools to deconstruct habitual patterns and access a more truthful performance.

6. Cultivation of creativity through joy, play, and poetic exploration.

7. Grounding in a pre-expressive state that enriches all future character work.
